Wednesday, August 3: Anchorage

I think I forgot to take a picture today.

We drove from Fishcamp to the Antler store outside of Soldatna where Larry wanted to stop to get moose antler for Trey to chew on. He picked out some pieces and then bought an antler carved into the shape of an eagle head for his grandkids. The store owner threw in the dog treats as part of the deal. From there it was non stop to Golden Nugget RV Park just down the street from Costco. Larry and I did laundry.  Then the three of us hit up Glacier Brewing for an excellent Thai Pizza and Shrimp Salad. That was followed by a walk through downtown with Betsy to collect a few geocaches before heading back to the park for showers and an adult beverage.

9:20 at night and the sun is still high in the sky. Next door and throughout the nearby neighborhood I can hear kids playing and laughing. There’s lots of adult vehicular movement and quite a few bicycles going by. Bush planes are constantly landing at the nearby airport. Alaskans don’t sleep much in the summer.
