Monday, July 4: Almost Canada

After leaving Trout Creek we drove through the rain to Oroville, Washington via Cour’d Alene and Spokane and arrived at Osoyos Veterans Park in the early afternoon. This is a very pleasant campground with big sky, level grassy grounds, next to the lake, with water and electric, and some very friendly people.

Betsy decorated for the 4th, had dinner, and passed out while fireworks went off all around. We could have been in a battle as the rockets red glare shown everywhere and bombs burst in air all around us. Tre laid low while the cats stared out the door.

I sat outside and read for a while until it was too dark. Bookman’s T-shirt: Outside of a dog, Reading is man’s best friend. Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read.

Happy 4th of July! 🎉
